A Late March Museum Visit
The last week of March was pretty quiet. We stayed close to home, mostly taking in the early spring weather. The main event was a trip to a museum to see an exhibition of contemporary sculpture.
The galleries were filled with some really interesting pieces. One that stood out was a large, grey wolf-like creature with intricate pink lace and ribbons streaming from its mouth. It was both imposing and delicate. Another installation featured small figures with bird-like heads, one sitting on a bench and two others perched on a shelf high up on the wall.
There were other compelling works, like a massive, textured pile of huddled, weathered figures that seemed to grow out of each other. In contrast, another room held a much more colorful, stylized sculpture of a couple in a tight embrace.
Sometime during that same stretch of days, we also found ourselves at a park with a large, multi-tiered waterfall cascading over dark rocks. It was a nice bit of nature to break up the time spent indoors.
