Late March in London: Bridges, Blossoms, and Canals

I spent a few days in London at the end of March. My first evening was spent walking along the Thames as the light faded, watching the city skyline and St. Paul's appear against the twilight. As it got darker, the bridges started to light up. I wasn't expecting the intense pink illumination on some of them, which cast a bright glow over the water.

The next day was more typical London weather—overcast and grey. I walked around the area near Tower Bridge, watching the various tour boats and transport vessels moving up and down the river. The sky was heavy with clouds, which felt fitting for the view.

Then the sun came out, and it finally felt like spring. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, their white flowers stark against the bright blue sky. It was a complete shift from the mood of the previous day, a welcome burst of color and light.

One evening ended with a walk along a canal path at sunset. It was much calmer than the city center, with just a few people out. A canal boat named Eleanor was moored for the night, reflecting the warm light from the sky. It was a quiet end to the trip.
